  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Boneless, skinless preferred
  • 1 cup flour All-purpose
  • 1 tsp salt To taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper To taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 pieces eggs Large
  • 1 cup milk Whole or buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying High smoke point preferred

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  • Dip each chicken breast first in the egg mixture and then coat with the flour mixture.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  • Drain on paper towels.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken hot, generously topped with gravy. Pair it with creamy mashed potatoes and steamed green beans for a complete meal.

Notes

For added flavor, marinade the chicken in buttermilk overnight before battering. Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken for a crispy coating. Use a meat thermometer to check the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
